After winning “De grote prijs van Zuid Holland” It is now time for “De grote prijs van Nederland”. I participate in the Semi Finals of this competition in the category “Dance/Producers”. This week you can tune in to the djbroadcast radio and listen to my 20 minutes liveset monday, wednesday, friday and saturday from 2:20 pm till 2:40 pm. Please give it a listen at here. Hopefully I make it to the finals, so I can get some more recent productions into the mix, which give you a broader view of my productions.

“De grote prijs an Nederland”

De Grote Prijs van Nederland (translates as The Grand Prize of The Netherlands) is a music award to stimulate talented artists. There are four categories: Singer/Songwriter, Hiphop, Rock/Alternative and Dance/Producers. Winners get €5000.-, a music video, studio time, 500 promo copies of the first single, press pictures and gigs throughout the country. In the Dance/Producers category De Grote Prijs announced the twelve semifinalists. In September, DJBroadcast is going to broadcast their 20-minute-sets . Every week three semifinalist will be featured.

The final of the dance/producers category will take place live on stage on December the 12th in De Melkweg.

Decompression presents Billy Nasty

Zondag 31 mei is het weer tijd om stoom af te blazen. Waarom op een zondag? Omdat het kan! Maandag is het namelijk pinksteren en dan is “iedereen” vrij.

Decompression is deze keer terug met een wat stevigere line up dan de vorige editie. Niemand minder dan de Engelse held, Billy Nasty, die afgelopen Awakenings de westergasfabriek nog in lichterlaaie zette, zal plaats nemen achter de decks. Billy Nasty stond aan het begin van het techno tijdperk. Hij draait wereldwijd en is een graag geziene gast op bijvoorbeeld de Fabric (Londen) avonden en de wat ouderen liefhebbers onder ons zullen hem nog wel kennen van de legendarische Mazzo avonden (Amsterdam).

Daarnaast staat Anton Pieete, bekend van zijn producties met Bart Skils onder de naam “District one”, op de planken. Deze Amsterdammer is momenteel een van de meest toonaangevende producers die Nederland kent. Hij staat garant voor energieke ritmes met warme geluiden en meeslepende breaks. Zijn tracks zijn in vrijwel iedere internationale dj platentas terug te vinden.

Resident en organisator Size is er uiteraard ook weer bij. Met zo’n 10 jaar draaiervaring zit het wel snor bij deze boomlange dj, maar als producer lijkt het nu ook in een stroomversnelling te zijn gekomen. Nadat hij onlangs te horen heeft gekregen dat hij op het befaamde label “100% Pure Records” zal gaan releasen won hij ook nog eens de grote prijs van Zuid-Holland. Onlangs is zijn act ook geselecteerd voor de halve finale van de grote prijs van Nederland. Zijn promotracks worden o.a. al door adam beyer, 2000 and one, bart skils gedraaid. Of je je borst nat moet maken is nu niet meer een vraag, want nat wordt die zeker. De vorige edities waren uitverkocht dus wees er snel bij. Tot 31 mei!
